Geoffrey Bardon my... artist?

Geoffry Bardon (1940-2003)

Geoffry Bardon is NOT A ARTIST... surprise lol. k now for the real blog. even though you told us spifically not to tell biography about our artists, it is somewhat required for Bardon. Bardon grew up in Australia (not important which city), and attended law school for three years. he eventually changed majors to art, and taught at numerous high schools, finally moving to a prep school called Papunya. This is where he found his genre of art that he identified with and wanted to work with. Papunya was a prep school for the Aborigines. this is where he discovered and started a new movement, the Western Desert Painting Movement.

His big contribution to the art world is bringing the art of the Aborigine people to the rest of the world. he has encouraged anyone he comes in contact with in the tribe to take their designs they make in the sand and to make them with paint instead, creating a work of art that is clearly identifiable to the Aborigine people, which is why he falls under the title of an "identity artist," regardless of the lack of individual art.

I understand that this summary is very brief, but the explnation of his contributation to the Western Desert Movement is his only outstanding achievement in Identity work. not to say this work isn't monumental, but it was not like looking up a actual artist.

All my lacma pics

so i finally managed to get all my pictures up from my trip to lacma!!!!

we went to venice beach be4 we went to the museum, and the sand looked so cool cuz of the wind!

we were walking in a back alley parallel to the main boardwalk in venice and saw this... had to take a picture i thought this was so cool!

sean and i are in this picture (its too bright according to sean, thats y hes wearing his shades). these were the light poles out front of lacma

first glimpse of lacma!

Wassily Kandinsky "Sign" 1925

Wassily Kandinsky "Untitled Improvisation III" 1914

I did not get the names of these two paintings... my bad!!!!

Victor Brauner "Suicide at Dawn" 1930

Morris Louis "Unfurled Series: Beta Ro" 1959

I messed up holding the camera still when i took down the name of this picture... stupid security!!!

this was just a cool lookin mask... thought it should be put up :)

running through lacma trying to ditch sean with adeL!

on the look out for sean and saw this fountain... it was long

so startled to find out we finally lost sean!!!!

not sure y adel had his lil finger to the world... but that elevator is jinormous

just like this painting was jinormous. of course i forgot to get the title for this one... but it defiantly stood out to me

David Alfaro Siquerious "Landscape in Red" 1969.

sean destroyed adel at shoobachi this entire trip, this is the result of the second to last game... it was necessary to let the world know.

this is my lineup of artwork that i would like to have in my museum. i personally enjoyed seeing quite a few pieces of work from my artist i researched from the first unit, and continue to enjoy his work. all the other paintings have a feel of mystery and power, which is how i would represent anything that had my name on it. its who i am, and what i like to be :)
